    Founder of Picking Me Foundation

    After almost losing her leg to Dermatillomania in 2014, Lauren McKeaney set out to transform herself and the underreported, misunderstood Skin Picking Disorder community. In 2016 Lauren founded the only nonprofit worldwide focused on Skin Picking, the Picking Me Foundation NFP, funding initiatives that provide awareness, support, and advocacy for sufferers, supporters, and educational communities. With over 30 years of personal, real life experience with Dermatillomania, Lauren offers an intimate and unique understanding of the illness and what it takes to overcome it. Lauren's work has been featured in Vogue, Born Different, Self Magazine, DailyMail, Women's Health, New York Post, Refinery29 and more!
  • Angela Hartlin

    Founder of Skin Picking Support

    As the first person to speak on television about compulsive skin picking, Angela Hartlin is also the author of the FOREVER MARKED: A Dermatillomania Diary and stars in the documentary Scars of Shame. She appeared on the daytime talk show The Doctors in 2015 and went into recovery after receiving 12 weeks of therapy from Karen Pickett. She hosts monthly meetings through Skin Picking Support on facebook and is finishing up her recovery book, EMBRACING DERMATILLOMANIA: Through Pain & Recovery.
